The Importance of having an interactive website

Providing interactive content on your website helps to build a more personal one-on-one relationship with your website visitors. Providing areas on your website where visitors can leave comments and hear back directly from you, shows to your visitors that you care about their opinions and feedback. Responding to posted comments helps to build a closer relationship and instill trust in your brand.

Happy 2nd week 2012! Today we would like to showcase a website dedicated to providing information about education campuses around EA. With a strong mission to providing up-to date campus info and great web graphics, the website creators put together a very informative website. Take a look for yourself:

In addition to providing a lot of great content informing visitors about campuses, this website does a great job of keeping it interactive:

  • Check out their use of Facebook social plugins so visitors can “like” the page or post a comment. Plus it adds a layer of virality by giving visitors the option to post a comment to their Facebook wall.
  • Videos add action to the page and they have it set to automatically play when you land on their homepage.
  • An addition of a forum (via the “Request” tab in the main navigation has allowed the site to gather information and requests from visitors and allowed other users to respond to those requests directly.

An interactive website helps to create a conversation between you, the website owner, and your visitors. Need more reasons why you should focus on improving the level of interaction that takes place between you and your visitors?

Build Relationships

Increase Revenue

For a non-profit organization, trust is the key element when it comes to asking for donations.  Providing personal interaction via your website, can directly impact the amount visitors are willing to donate. Their generosity ties into the level of trust and knowledge they have of the organization with which they interact. Donors are much more likely to donate to someone they know and trust rather than just a website where they have not interacted with anyone. .

The Submit Button

You might have heard how a halo effect plays into the importance of every visit. But, did you know that  you can influence this effect simply by interacting with your website visitors? If you share similar interest with your  visitors, interacting with them can influence the amount of times a visitor comes to your website. Studies have shown, visitors that come more often to your website are more likely to spend on the product/services you offer. Thus helping you grow your business or cause.

The beginning of the year is a great time to think about ways you can increase the level of interaction of your website. Call Burt Systems Now, to change the way your website interacts with visitors.

I’m going to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a tough time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique.
P.S Sorry for being off-topic but I had to ask!
